Wretch - A miserable person

Retch - to make an effort to vomit

As you can see, these words are decidedly NOT INTERCHANGEABLE.

But you didn’t use the words interchangeably.

“makes me want to wretch” would be the phrase that set me off.

Please tell me I’m not the only person who gets annoyed at the misuse (or invention) of some words. “Supposably” for one. Or how about “Documentate”? “Sight” instead of “site”, and “I seen” instead of “I’ve seen”. I have come across all of these REPEATEDLY in the last 48 hours, and it’s really driving me nuts.

Ok I’m done.

Oh Peggi, we could go on for hours. Walah instead of voila, the whole sight/site/cite thing, and I’d personally like to find (and whap) the teacher who said “Everytime you think you would take a breath, insert a comma”
