courtesy of my mother. I spoke of going to TX to visit a friend and meet her brother….and Mom said
If he is ANY kind of an honorable man, he’ll come to you
Yes, Mom’s oldschool. VERY oldschool. I didn’t have the cojones to tell her (yet) that there are two friendly-type guys that I’m talking to right now. They both live more than two states away, so I take *everything* they say with a HUGE grain of salt. But I digress….
Guy A wants me to bring the kids to him. He’s got a job (new) and can’t take much time off work. If I’m understanding him properly (and there’s always room for misunderstandings) it’s an open-ended invitation. I’m welcome to stay as long as I want provided we get along IRL.
Guy B is willing to come to me. He doesn’t want a relationship, and hasn’t spent that much time around kids. Guess what he wants??????? (hint: it has absolutely NOTHING to do with my existing children)
So….I’ll be girding myself up to do battle with the folks as I go visit Guy A with my kids and see what we see.
I already talked to Dad about going there for a visit, and all he had to say was “Just clean the house up before you go”. Sometimes I wonder if he meant “Just [pack up your stuff] before you go”.
