Do this:

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.

add 1/2 C boiling water to dissolve sugar.

It’s Granny’s recipe for Pear Honey. Want the whole thing? See a scan of the page?

8 C chopped pears
1 or 2 lemons
5 C sugar
1 tsp. ginger

add 1/2 C boiling water to dissolve sugar

Cook until thick it’s good.

Cook pears before adding all the sugar or they won’t be done.

I haven’t tried making it, nor do I know if you use fresh or powdered ginger (although I’m almost POSITIVE it’s powdered). And I’m pretty sure you should use the JUICE of 1 or 2 lemons.

So there.
